What could be better than a sauna and a sea dip on What could be better than a sauna and a sea dip on a Tuesday morning?? The sauna was 85°C and the sea was 8°C! Such a difference in temperature and so invigorating!

📍Saltwater Sauna, Avon Beach, Mudeford
💰£15 per person for a communal sauna
🚙 Park in Avon Run Road above the beach for free from October to March.
🩵It’s the perfect way to take a moment for yourself and a great thing to do with a friend @courtneywatts0 or two… especially if you bump into more friends @sea_blue_lucie_lu and it becomes a very chill sauna party!

Carlsbad knows how to do food… If you find yourse Carlsbad knows how to do food…

If you find yourself in this glorious town in California, then bedside the beach you’ll want to check out these top spots to eat:

1. Beach Plum Kitchen - Great breakfast!
2. Casero Taqueria - Cute Mexican with the tastiest tacos!
3. Windmill Food Hall - You can’t miss the windmill. Huge variety of food outlets. My fave is the tuna poke bowl from @rolledupsd. Theres also a mini games arcade for the kids.
4. The Henry - chic eatery with great brunch and it’s at The Forum so you can shop too.
5. Denny’s - An American classic for breakfast! No frills diner but always a must visit for us when in the US.
6. In N Out Burger - originated in California. Has the tastiest burgers!
7. Pizza Port Brewing Co - Great pizza and great beer. Get a huge slice for $3 or go all out for a large pizza. Beer brewed on site and a few arcade games for the kids. Great, relaxed atmosphere.

5 & 6 Summer camping in Charmouth, Dorset & glamping in a cosy pod for 4 near Lyme Regis also in Dorset in chilly but crisp October. This part of the UK is perfect for hunting for fossils & sea glass! 🇬🇧

Travel for me looks a little different these days! It’s definitely slower paced and not so full on as life was as cabin crew. I do miss a month filled with New York, Mauritius, Peru and the Caribbean but looking back on 2025 I’m so grateful for the trips I did and the travel perks I still get from working for an airline… I’ve got 9 years left of standby flights and already planning this years adventures!!

Matt and I have had to adjust a lot to living life with a chronic medical condition in the family. It means travel takes a bit more planning and we can’t just escape as a couple like we used to, even a night away near home without the kids has to be risk assessed. But life is what you make it and we refuse to stop taking our kids on adventures… there’s so much to be said for spending time outdoors on a mini glamping break near home. It’s made me realise you don’t always have to go half way around the world for adventure… here’s to 2026 and more family adventures near and far!
